Appointment Policy: We prefer to see patients by appointment to allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures. Emergency cases may take precedence over regularly scheduled appointments, so an occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please call us or use the email appointment form on our website to schedule your appointment.

Equine Clients: Please call our equine receptionist to schedule an appointment for your horse(s) by calling (410) 822-8505 and asking to speak with the equine receptionist. You may also email us at equine@vmceaston.com. Please allow 48 hours for a response. For routine appointments or questions include owner’s name, horse(s) name, where they are stabled, and nature of visit.

Appointment Cancellation Policy: If you need to change or cancel your appointment, please call us at (410) 822-8505 or e-mail us at equine@vmceaston.com. We request the courtesy of at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations so that we may schedule another patient in your place.

Payment Policy: We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept cash, check, Visa, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Debit, and Care Credit. Our credit card merchant requires an original signature by the cardholder on all credit transactions. If your animal needs to be brought in by a friend or family member, please make sure that you have established a method of payment.

Return Policy: Products that have left our facility cannot be returned.

Prescription Policy:

• Prescription Refills – Please give us as much notice as possible when refills are needed.
• We do not recommend purchasing your pet’s medications from unknown online pharmacies. You will find our in-house pharmacy prices are very competitive with online pharmacies.

Large Animals Treated: We treat horses, camelids (llamas and alpacas) and small ruminants (sheep and goats). We do not treat cattle or exotics.

Geographic Area Covered: We serve the following Maryland counties: Kent, Queen Anne’s, Talbot, Caroline, and Dorchester.   Please call us with your location if you have a question.

Equine Fecal Evaluation: Please provide us with 1 to 2 fresh fecal balls, minimally contaminated with bedding and not more than 24 hours old. Please refrigerate the sample prior to your appointment. Please label the bag with your name, the horse’s name and date. Samples can be dropped off at our Easton hospital or given to your veterinarian at a farm appointment.

Equine First Aid Kit: We recommend the following items for your equine first aid kit:

• Leg Wraps (sheet cottons and track wraps)

• Epsom Salt

• Antibacterial wipes
• Bandage scissors
• Betadine scrub
• Betadine solution
• Cold pack, instant
• Cotton roll, 1/2 lb
• Exam gloves (rubber)
• Elastikon, 2” and 4”
• Flashlight
• Gauze pads, 4″x 4″
• Gauze roll bandage 4”
• Oral dosing syringe 60 cc
• Permanent marker
• Nolvasan or SSD Ointment
• Saline eye wash
• Stethoscope
• Telfa pads, 3″x 4″
• Towels
• Thermometer, (digital human)
• Co-flex/Vetwrap Bandages
• Triple antibiotic ointment, 1 oz
• Vaseline
• Weight tape
• Kit container, plastic w/ snap lock lid
