Dr. Eliana Greissworth
I was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, spending most of my childhood obsessing over horses. My mother’s side was involved in the horse industry and I was raised on stories of her life growing up on a (mostly hobby) farm. As soon as I could lift a saddle I began doing farm chores at a wonderful riding stable to afford riding lessons. As much as I loved riding, I found that I was happiest caring for horses and supporting their owners. One of my favorite jobs I’ve ever had to this day was when I managed a farm as I applied to veterinary school and finished up some prerequisites. I am grateful for this time because now I can truly empathize with my clients and athletes — I know what it is like to budget for horses, provide daily care, what it’s like losing sleep over an unwell horse. I am also lucky enough to have always had a cat, dog, or tortoise to care for in my life. These creatures have inspired my interest in being a well-rounded mixed animal veterinarian. My biggest interests are equine dentistry, large animal nutrition and lameness, ALL things feline, supporting senior pets, and lastly, reptile husbandry and general medicine.
