Deanna – Hospital Administrator
Deanna joined Veterinary Medical Center in 2015 with 18-years in the industry. She started as a kennel attendant and continued to work in a variety of different roles within a veterinary practice; eventually working her way up to practice management.
She grew up in California and relocated in June of 2015 to Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Deanna has a special interest in Veterinary Practice Management & Veterinary Medicine and thrives on continuing to learn and grow within the field.
Deanna is a devoted wife and mother. She and her husband are the parents of three children and her “fur-babies”, Kansas, Panda and Mikey. On her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors and cooking for her family.
Caitlin - Office Manager
Caitlin has been with VMC since December of 2016, she originally started as a Customer Service Representative but quickly moved into the Office Manager position in July of 2017. Caitlin lived in Colorado for several years before moving to the Eastern Shore in 2011. She enjoys hiking, spending time with her family and being outdoors. She cares for her three dogs, Lexi, Hunter and Maya!
Tara- Patient Services Administrator
Tara is a Licensed Veterinary Technician and our Patient Services Administrator. She has been with VMC since 2009. She graduated from Delaware Tech with an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology and has been in the industry since 2002. Her favorite part of her job is client education, patient care and reproduction. She owns two Rottweilers named Chassis and Axle (aka “the baby”) and Cami her cat. She is an admitted “book worm” so, needless to say, she spends a lot of her free time reading. She also enjoys spending time with her animals and volunteering with DAAWGs Rescue and Pets on Wheels.
Kim - Client Service Administrator
Kim is the Client Service Administrator with VMC and divides her time between the Veterinary Medical Center, her design business, and advocating for southern shelter animals. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree at the University of Florida and enjoys spending time with her family and three rescue dogs Olive, Gracie Potter, and Beans.
Jeanie - Facilities Manager
Jeanie has been with VMC since 2008. Her father was a veterinarian and she has been in customer service for over 35 years. She is married and has her “2 girls”; Cassie a black lab mix and Lilly a yellow lab, who are always up for an adventure. Her favorite part of her job is working with the clients, their pets, and her co-workers. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her pets and gardening.
Karen - Equine Coordinator/IT Specialist
Karen is the Equine Coordinator/IT Specialist and has been with VMC since 2002. She previously worked on a Pleasure Horse Farm. She enjoys playing with horses when she is not working. Karen is happily married and enjoys spending time with her animals and trail riding.
Marley - Licensed Veterinary Technician
Marley started with VMC in 2012 and is a licensed veterinary technician that completed the veterinary technology program at Manor in Jenkingstown, PA. Marley has 2 horses, 3 dogs and 1 cat at home and enjoys English and Westen pleasure riding in her spare time. Her favorite thing about being a veterinary technician is helping to benefit the lives of animals.
Amanda - Licensed Veterinary Technician
Amanda is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who graduated from Delaware Technical and Community College in 2015 with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. Animals have always been a huge part of her life, even when she was a small child. Amanda is married and a new mom to an adorable baby boy. She has a Doberman named Boo and her cat named Mr. Jingles. Her favorite part of her job is being able to provide pets with excellent care and working with a wonderful team. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, being outdoors, and spending time with her family.
Tammy - Licensed Veterinary Technician
Tammy Graduated from Delaware Tech in 2007 with an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology. She is married with 3 dogs, 5 cats, and community fish. Tammy's favorite part of being in the veterinary field is patient care and assisting with surgery. In her spare time she enjoys camping, motorcycles, and surf fishing.
Rut - Licensed Veterinary Technician
Rut is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who graduated from Delaware Technical College in 2016. She has worked in the veterinary field since 2011. She owns two dogs, Nammi, a Min Pin and Lina, a Pomeranian. In addition, she also cares for a variety of other animals, including several fish, a lizard, a cat and, just recently, a hedgehog! She enjoys time with her family, traveling and cooking/baking. She listed too many reasons as to why she loves working at VMC, but a few are; team spirit, client care and constantly learning!
Cheryl - Licensed Veterinary Technician
Cheryl is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who joined VMC in 2012. She graduated from Delaware Tech & Community College with an Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology and currently teaches for the college as well. She is married with 2 dogs, 6 birds, and a Hedgehog. Her favorite part of her job is patient care & client education. In her spare time she works with Tri-state Bird Rescue.
Matthew - Veterinary Assistant
Matthew is a Veterinary Assistant, and has been with VMC since 2007. He has been in the industry since 1997. He has 2 brothers, 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 5 birds. His favorite part of his job is meeting new clients and their pets, and building a relationship with them. In his spare time, he enjoys horseback riding.
Dodie - Veterinary Assistant
Dodie is a Veterinary Assistant, and has been with VMC since 2007. She is married with 3 children, 4 grandchildren, 2 horses, 1 dog, and 5 cats. Her favorite part of her job is helping animals. In her spare time, she enjoys horseback riding, and family time.
Veronica - Veterinary Assistant
Veronica is an Eastern Shore native who has been with VMC since 2014. She has several animals at home: Dazey an English Mastiff, two snake’s named Guinness and Sweeney, two geckos named Spyro and Saphira, and an awesome husband who also loves all her critters! She is currently working toward obtaining her veterinary technology degree and getting licensed in the state of Maryland. Her favorite parts of working in the veterinary industry are learning new things, and helping pet owners give their pets the best quality of life possible. Outside of work, she loves reading, hiking, traveling and spending time with her family.
Janae - Veterinary Assistant
Janae graduated from Northern Virginia Community College in 2001 with an Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology. She has 15 years’ experience in the emergency veterinary field.
Her favorite parts of working in the veterinary field are intensive care, patient care and emergency work.
Janae has lived on the Eastern Shore for 5 years with her husband and 2 girls. She has a Chihuahua named Chaos and a cat named KitKat. In her spare time she enjoys camping, going to the beach and playing with her two children.
Christa - Veterinary Assistant
Christa has worked at VMC since April 2016. She attended Chesapeake College and completed the veterinary assistant program. She owns 3 dogs; Mossi Oak, a 6-year-old black lab, Lulu, 3-year-old black lab mix and Porkchop, a 14-year-old staffy terrier. She loves working with a great group of individuals and helping animals and clients! She enjoys spending her free time hunting, fishing, riding horses and going to hockey games.
Chelsea - Veterinary Assistant
Chelsea worked for VMC several years ago and just recently came back in 2017. She has worked as a veterinary assistant since 2010 in a variety of veterinary practices around the United States. She has too many animals to list but she is a proud owner of Leela, an all-American mutt, Arlo, a German Shepard/Malamute and 3 cats just to name a few. She loves working with her co-workers and all the little baby critters that walk through our doors! She spends her free time reading, hiking and riding horses.
Gabby - Client Service Representative
Gabby has worked at VMC since 2017. Gabby obtained her 2-year degree in Business Administration from Chesapeake College. She has two cats; Jingle Bells and Brown Cat who she adores! In her free time, she enjoys teaching a workout class called “Pound” and spending time with her friends and family on the Wye River!
Kelley - Client Service Representative
Kelley started with VMC in 2017. She currently attends Chesapeake College. She loves working at VMC because of her co-workers, helping animals and meeting new people. She is a fur-momma to her 3 animals; Banjo her 70 lb. Newfoundland, and Primo and Cali, her domestic short haired cats. She spends her free time being outside, hunting and fishing.
Sarah - Client Service Representative
Sarah began her veterinary career at VMC in 2017. She has 3 cats; Pickle Pants (a tuxedo), Fuzz Theodore (a Maine Coon) and Gracie Lucille (a half bob) who own her, and her heart! She enjoys spontaneous road trips, gardening, board games, reading and is a self-proclaimed nerd! Sarah travels the U.S representing her Native American heritage and promoting education through performance art at Powwows singing, drumming and dancing.
Brenda - Client Service Representative
Brenda, who is a licensed veterinary technician, started with VMC in the fall of 2017. She took a hiatus from veterinary medicine and worked for the county government for 25 years, including 7 years as an animal control officer. She now is back doing what she ultimately loves, client education and building relationships with clients and their pets. She currently owns 2 dogs; Higgins (a Corgi who is a registered therapy dog) and Ziva, a Belgium Malinos. She enjoys going to the beach and traveling with her family.
Katie - Kennel Attendant
Katie moved to the Eastern Shore from New York and started with VMC in 2017. She has worked in the Veterinary field since 2015 but has been volunteering at animal shelters since she was 6 years old. She is currently attending Ashworth College pursuing her Veterinary Technology degree. She has a three-legged cat named Bentley, and a yellow lab named Dega. She loves working with the staff at VMC and she enjoys walking Dega and taking photos.
